Pre-Trip Checklist
Things to take care of before you leave — so you can travel stress-free.
Check Your Travel Documents Early
Passport and identification requirements vary by destination, citizenship, itinerary, and travel supplier. Check your documents well before departure so there is time to address any issues.
Review Your Final Itinerary
Double-check all names, dates, and flight times match your travel documents exactly.
Final Payment Due Date
ImportantMost trips require final payment 45–90 days before departure. Check your booking confirmation for your exact due date.
Check In With Your Airline
Many airlines allow online or app check-in before departure. Check your airline's app or website for your specific check-in window, seat options, boarding information, and any last-minute schedule changes.
Check Your Cards Before You Go
Many banks and credit-card issuers no longer require travel notices, but policies vary. Make sure your contact information is current, know how to reach your card issuer, and check whether a travel notice is recommended. Having more than one payment method is a good idea when practical.
Pack Your Documents
Passport, travel insurance card, booking confirmations, and any required visas — keep them in your carry-on, not checked luggage.
Review Your Reservation Details
Make sure the name on your reservation matches the name on the identification or passport you will use for travel. Double-check dates, flight times, and supplier confirmations.
Review Your Travel Insurance
If you purchased travel insurance, save your policy information and know how to contact the provider. Review the plan documents so you understand the coverage, exclusions, and claims process.
